Breath of the Wild Pixel Art and Twitch Stream Overlay

Notes

A Twitch overlay I designed and created for MartialMichael126. His old overlay was low quality and did not have any relevance to his more retro-game centric content, so I created something more fitting for him to use while streaming on Twitch.

A challenge we had to tackle was that an overlay border with a static ratio was not suitable, as many retro games do not have a standard screen ratio. He had initially solved this with a simple animated background, but it was not enough.

To follow his lead, for the background I crafted a pixel fanart of Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild as a nod to a gaming franchise many gamers consider a timeless classic. Particular elements like the mountain, Link, and Epona were placed on the side so viewers had visual elements as a border for his games. I also created UI elements for his followers, subscribers, and bits with iconic game items. Lastly, I created a border UI element for his webcam.

I designed it in this way so if he had to take a break, all he had to do was remove the additional elements and he could have a nice image for his viewers to look at while he was away.
